Supply chain and logistics simulation modelling
Simulation is an inexpensive, quick and safe way to examine supply chains as well as the operations inside it’s of facilities and their automation systems. Computer simulation means modelling the performance actual or planned system, such as a plant, over time. When it comes to the analysis of large-scale logistic systems, the advantage of discrete-event- simulations is that all the complexity of the process, rules and restrictions can be included in the model precisely enough. Interaction of process, interdependent events, logistic control methods and huge amount of parameters can be considered, when simulation is udes.
For example, simulation can be used to re-configure delivery schedules inside the plant, or test how inbound and outbound logistics schedule changes would affect the operations as a whole.
